Friday Favorite: Spring

May 27th, 2016

Things are growing and blooming here at Chiot’s Run. Spring is in full swing. The potager is starting to burst forth with greenery, lettuce, spinach, violets, and so much more. The lilacs are blooming along with many other beautiful things. Here’s a glimpse of what’s going on just around the house.

The birds are singing and flitting about, the bees are buzzing and pollinating flowers, I’m busy planting and watering as well. It’s a beautiful time in the garden and I’m trying to enjoy every second I can.

What do you love most about spring?

Cool pansy! This year spring has been longer than I remembered. I am still harvesting lettuces and the peas have just begun swelling. Each year is a little different. I have enjoyed the profusion of honeysuckle this year.

Everything! :) Especially the long, beautiful, evenings filled with that special spring light!

My favorite spring thing is the smell! Right now, lilacs and crabapple blossoms and lily of the valley are all blooming. I also love the sound of the peepers in the evening.

Susy, this time of the year is the most beautiful time of the year. Every thing is so green and lush. It’s the best time of the year. Soon the dry hot summer will set in and things will begin to move toward survival mode with all the thrust toward seed settings.

Have a great time enjoying the blooming and beauty of the season.
