Early July Blooms
When we start getting consistently warm weather in late June & early July the garden seems to explode overnight. Every day there are new things blooming, new vegetables to harvest, and new birds and insects flitting around. Here’s what was blooming in my garden last week. July is really the most floriferous time in my garden, other season have blooms but not nearly as many.
Some of these are in my cutting garden, some are growing wild in various areas of the garden, I enjoy each one of them, even if I didn’t plant them. I’m always amazed that each year as I plant a wider variety of plants a wider variety of insects and birds appear.
What’s blooming in your garden this week?

Being a flower farmer :) I love seeing other flower gardens! Your blooms are beautiful! Is that milkweek in the first photo? Our gardens seem to explode in early July too. I love it!
I have alot of camomile, crocosmia, rugosa roses and lilies blooming right now!

Currently we have althea, hydrangea, cosmos, coreopsis, zinnia, aster, balloon flower, roses and morning glory blooming. This IS the time of year where the garden explodes with color.
If you have time, do you mind sharing what the name of the bloom is in the 5th picture from the bottom? To me it looks similar to carnation, but it’s quite beautiful and if it’s easy to grow I’ll put it on my to buy list for next year. Thank you.

Those are peony poppies and super easy to grow. If you send me your address I’m more than happy to send you some seeds.

Okay, I can see the features in the bloom now! It’s like a mini peony. Thank you for the offer, Susy, that’s generous. I’ll send you my address.

Can I be included on that mailing list for the peony poppies and if so, shall I send my address to your e-mail? I will gladly send you some flower seeds in exchange. I’ll have lots soon!

Susy, I’m a little weak on growing flowers. Mine are mostly spring flowers except for the Hostas. I did plant some forget me nots which are just starting to bloom. I threw in a package of something else but forget what it was. It is starting to produce a wonderful blue flower. Flowers are just not my thing but I’m trying to plant more to attract the pollinators.
Have a great day enjoying the July flower display.
