Welcome Winter!
Winter has officially arrived here in Maine, we got our first meaningful amount of snow. On Saturday night and into Sunday, we got about 6 inches. They’re calling for another 6 tomorrow.
The garden is happy, it now has it’s protective layer of snow to keep things from drying out with the cold winter winds.
I’m excited about the snow, not only because it protects the garden, but also for the snowshoeing. In the winter, I go snowshoeing every day on my lunch break if I can. Getting out in the woods every day is such a treat. We’re lucky to have great trails on the property right from the house.
What’s your favorite winter activity?

Susy, my favorite activity is watching those that still have to go to work fight their way out of the driveway and down the street through the living room window as I sip on my hot cup of coffee. If I would have to pick an out door activity, it would be tobogganing down the school yard hill next to my house. It’s a great way to get exercise. Sadly we don’t have any snow here in Nebraska with no foreseeable snow in the future. The temps are still in the upper 40s during the day and 20s at night.
Have a great snow shoe day.

My favorite winter activity is being outside when I can—and hooray for snow! We had some last week, too….totally bizarre to see tropical plants with snow on them. Needless to say, I’ve got some damage.

We finally have snow in Syracuse NY as well. Hopefully we get enough to go snowshoeing too!
