Bracing….
Once winter gets into full swing here in Maine, we’re pretty much used to snow, ice, and cold weather. It’s been pretty cold here lately, down to almost -20 at night and daytimes only in the single digits. Now, there’s a blizzard coming.
The snow totals keep going up (14″-18″ now), but we are ready. Pretty much everything is cancelled, work, school, etc. We will spend our last hour of calm before the storm bringing in some firewood, checking on all the outdoor animals and then hunkering down. Perhaps we’ll finally be able to watch that movie we’ve been wanting to since Christmas, that is unless the power goes out.
What’s happening in your garden today?

I just wandered around doing a damage assessment of our multi-day deep freeze (deep freeze for us is low to mid 20s). Thankfully we are warming up.
Stay toasty and safe!

Susy, you made me belly laugh. What’s going on in my garden? Nothing, that’s what. It’s too dang cold to even think about going there. I just look out my computer room window and shiver looking at the backyard beds covered in totally frozen solid snow. I’ll be starting to clean up my seed starting station soon. Maybe even tomorrow. I found some left over bags of potting mix at Walmart for half price. They are the ones I always use so I’ve been buying up as many as I can before the garden season begins and they just up the price for the same bags. I’ve found you can never have too much potting mix.
Have a great Maine hunkering down day.
