Winter Wonderland

January 23rd, 2018

Last week we woke up to a winter wonderland, which was quite nice after a lot of rain had melted all the snow. A few inches of snow had fallen overnight and the sun was shining, it was truly spectacular. I ended up going for a snowshoe in the morning instead of working in the office. Here’s what I saw:

What’s the weather like in your garden?

Wow! How beautiful! Do you ever see moose or their tracks in your area?

Yes, we do. They like to use our driveway as a highway and our woods trails as their paths. A few years ago, one walked up the driveway and right beside the sauna, which is just down from the house. I’ve also seen their tracks in the potager right behind the house (and by right behind I mean, the moose was 10 feet from the house).

Wow, I can’t imagine seeing a moose walking up my driveway! :) Maybe one day, you’ll find shed moose antlers…Now that would be an awesome find!

Susy, every season has majesty and beauty. It’s why I live in Nebraska. Each season has its own unique beauty that can’t be found in the other seasons. Wet snow fell two days ago covering all of nature and man’s built structures. The amazing sights of new fallen snow still after 70 years stops my activities just to enjoy the way nature takes care of the planet.

    Have a great snowshoe day.
