Garden Art

March 4th, 2019

One of the things I’ve been thinking I need to start adding to my garden is a bit of art. Last summer, I discovered some old rusty barrel rings buried by the chicken coop. They reminded me of a garden I visited a few years ago on a local garden tour.

I could definitely make the art shown above, it’s most likely made from old barrel rings as well. This particular garden had lots of lovely little art pieces tucked around the garden. Some made from scrap object, some purchased and collected. Here are a few of the things I saw.

I definitely like the idea of adding a few pieces of art, I just need to find things that will look good in my garden. There are a few things I’d like to make this summer, specifically cement spheres to put under the old apple tree out front.

Do you have art pieces in your garden?

Barrel rings! Thank you for sharing this on fb. One of my wine barrels is breaking down, and I wondered what I’d do with the rings. Now I know.

This is something I’m looking to do, too. We have a neighbor who makes wild pots that coil up and incorporate dragonflies, turtles, hummingbirds and butterflies. We scored one last December. It needs to winter indoors, but I’m looking forward to setting it outside in the spring. We’ll be adding more as the seasons pass.
