Busy, Busy, Busy

December 5th, 2014

You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been blogging much this week. We’ve been fairly busy on our time back in Ohio. We’ve been catching up with old friends and spending lots of time with our nieces & nephew.

The kids are old enough now to spend the night at my parents while we’re visiting. So we’ve been enjoying hanging out with them in the evenings, hence no blog posts.

We’ve made Christmas cookies, decorations for the tree, we’ve had pizza parties, brunches and lunches. We’ve been focusing on spending time with friends & family and it has been successful.

Today we’re celebrating Christmas. There will be a big dinner tonight with ham and all the fixings. We’ll exchange gifts and enjoy time together. Then tomorrow we’ll hit the road back and head back to Maine. It’s been a good holiday in Ohio, but I look forward to getting home and spending a relaxing Christmas at home in a few weeks.

Are you celebrating any Christmases yet?

Our Christmas gift to our 10-year-old girls is a trip to Disney World. We are at Disney World right now. :-) They’re amazed by everything and we’re loving watching them experience it.

We’re on the road, too, visiting our youngest daughter, who works at Disney World. She won’t be able to get home for Christmas this year, so we are having a nice visit now. Having my coffee on a little terrace right now, which would be impossible in Minnesota. Safe travels home!

Susy, our (my daughter and I) will be traveling to Texas again to visit my grandson. It will be on the weekend before Christmas. We won’t be there for the actual Christmas but at least will be able to spend some time with him. Finances prevented the actual bringing him to my house for Christmas. It’s a long trip but it will be worth it. Unfortunately we can’t stay too long. We can only stay a couple days then it’s back home as my daughter doesn’t really get much vacation time from where she works. So we are looking forward to that for the Christmas season.

Have a great safe trip back home with all the good times to remember.

Sounds like you’re having a lovely time. We don’t travel over the holidays anymore since my daughter and her family moved around the block. I’m looking forward to baking, decorating and tree trimming this week – I love this time of year.
